Holidays in GB 2022!!

On 11th of June the time had finally come! Our summer holiday to the UK was finally getting cloaser. For the next three weeks, we traveled with our camper van via the Netherlands to England and then headed for Scotland, all the way to the north of the mainland.

We took the ferry from Hook of Holland across the North Sea to Harwich. It was the first ferry ride in my life. My two companions booked a cabin for us, so that we could spend the night all together in the same room.

The next morning England welcomed us with sunshine. We continued roughly towards Edinburgh. We arrived there three days later. And I was finally allowed to improve my climbing skills on “Sir Arthur’s Seat”.

On the Old Military Road we drove to Balmoral Castle. There we spent a very nice day with long walks. We used the small shower in between for a little coffee break.

Aberdour Beach is a very, very beautiful spot in Scotland where you can come down.

A visit to a Highland Games should not be missed either. In Oldmeldrum we succeeded and we had a very nice day and gained many new impressions.

At Loch Morlich we also had a fantastic place that we could enjoy with a long walk.

After a quick stop at Eilean Donan Castle we took a very small ferry to the Isle of Skye.

After spending a few days on Skye, we continued north. Once there, Balnakeil Beach welcomes us in all its beauty.

Since we had now arrived in the very north of the mainland, it was time to go back south and thus towards home. We spent a few more days in Scotland and England, then took the ferry back to Holland from Harwich. In the Netherlands we spent another great evening on the campsite Erve Hof van Heden nearby of Markelo.
